Norsk Hydro: announces special dividend

(CercleFinance.com) - Norway's Norsk Hydro, the world's eighth-largest aluminium producer, announced this Friday that it would pay a special dividend based on its performance last year.


Hydro said the additional coupon of 1.45 Norwegian kronor per share (about 0.15 euro per share) would be paid to its shareholders on 30 September.

The industrial group announced earlier this year that it would more than triple its net profit for the 2021 financial year, a performance that in particular was due to the "record" levels achieved by aluminium prices.

Following this announcement, Hydro's shares rose by 1.4% on the Oslo Stock Exchange on Friday: their value has almost tripled in the last two years.
