Hydro: production resumes at Brazilian plants

(CercleFinance.com) - Hydro on Monday said production has resumed at its Paragominas bauxite mine in Brazil, with production consequently being ramped up at its Alunorte alumina refinery.


Production was shut two weeks ago due to a power outage, which temporarily halted the production at the mine.

The damaged transmission tower has been repaired, and the power connection resumed, the Norwegian aluminum producer said.

There were no personnel injuries, damages to other production assets or impact on the nearby environment related to the power outage, it added.

The financial and operational impact has also been limited, Hydro pointed out.
