Technip Energies: contract for ethane cracker in Antwerp

(CercleFinance.com) - Technip Energies has been awarded a "major contract" (250 to 500 million euros) for the supply of proprietary equipment for INEOS Olefins Belgium's 1,450 kta (kilotonnes per annum) ethane cracker in Antwerp, Belgium.


The cracker is designed using Technip Energies' latest technological advances to achieve a 50% smaller CO2 footprint than the best 10% of European crackers, and to accommodate a carbon capture device.

The furnaces are modular and designed to run on high hydrogen content fuel and to move to 100% hydrogen combustion in the future.
