Ahold Delhaize: joins initiative to cut food waste by 2030

(CercleFinance.com) - Dutch-based supermarket group Ahold Delhaize on Wednesday said that it will extend its commitment to cut food waste, in line with the global goal of reducing food waste by 50% by 2030.

The retailer is also launching partnerships with its suppliers to further reduce food waste, a new target that strengthens its commitment to cutting food waste by 20% by 2020.

Ahold Delhaize is one of the founders of the "10x20x30" initiative, which includes 10 global food retailers that will each engage with 20 of their top suppliers to halve their rates of food loss and waste by 2030.

The initiative was launched today during the "climate week" in New York.
