Gemalto: signs contract with DNP in Japan

(CercleFinance.com) - Gemalto today announced that it has been chosen by the Japanese supplier of financial solutions Dai Nippon Printing (DNP), in order to facilitate mobile banking transactions.


DNP uses Gemalto's authentication by facial biometrics solution, Mobile Protector. Facial recognition secures access to its banking applications. "Customers can hence easily and quickly connect to mobile banking, after a successful facial verification, which provides a more convenient experience for the user, the group said.

In Japan, more and more consumers access their financial services via their mobile devices. But at the same time, these users are also increasingly concerned about security, said Kunimitsu Sato, Deputy General Manager of Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd.
