Airbus: invests in Canada's carbon engineering

(CercleFinance.com) - Airbus today announced that it is investing in Carbon Engineering, a Canadian-based climate solutions company that operates the world's largest direct carbon capture from the air (DACC) R&D facility.

This technology involves capturing CO2 emissions directly from the air using high-powered fans. Once extracted from the air, the CO2 can be used to produce liquid Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), which is compatible with today's aircraft.

Airbus' investment will help fund some of Carbon Engineering's advanced direct-to-air capture R&D technologies at the company's innovation centre in Squamish, British Columbia.
