Airbus: helicopter orders recover in 2021

(CercleFinance.com) - Airbus said on Wednesday that it expects its helicopter orders to have recovered in 2021, citing "solid signs of recovery" in the market, after 2020 was dogged by the pandemic.

In a statement, its subsidiary Airbus Helicopters said it booked a total of 419 gross orders last year, including 414 net orders, to be compared with 289 gross orders in 2020, including 268 net orders.

The European aerospace group says it particularly benefited from increased demand for its lightest aircraft, the H125 and H130, which are popular with commercial customers and government agencies.

Geographically, Airbus said it benefited from an upbeat momentum in its domestic markets, with France acquiring 40 H160s last year, as well as eight H225s and two H145s.
