Airbus: contract with Frontex in drone surveillance

(CercleFinance.com) - The European agency Frontex has awarded a contract to Airbus Defence and Space Airborne Solutions (ADAS) and its partner Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) to operate a medium-altitude, long-endurance drone for maritime air surveillance services.


The service will be provided in Greece and/or Italy and/or Malta under a framework contract.

Several successful trials have been conducted in recent years to confirm and highlight the advantages of unmanned aerial systems in terms of precise surveillance with long endurance.
