Airbus: develops solution for cargo operations

(CercleFinance.com) - Airbus is developing a solution enabling airlines to use their wide-body aircraft for cargo operations.


Modifications for the A330 and A350 family aircraft will enable airlines to install freight pallets that are directly attached to cabin floor seat rails, after the removal of passenger seats.

This solution will address the global shortage of air freight transport due to the widespread grounding of long-haul aircraft in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. In particular, it will meet the high demand for humanitarian flights.

These facilities will also be usable after the Covid-19 pandemic is over.
