Airbus: Delta Air Lines orders another five A220

(CercleFinance.com) - Airbus has booked an order from Delta Air Lines for another five Airbus A220 aircraft.

This brings the total number of orders placed to 95, including the A220-100 and A220-300 planes.

With this last order, Delta's orders total 45 A220-100 and 50 A220-300.

Airbus announced in May that it would increase the maximum takeoff weight (MTOW) of the A220 by 2,268 kg (2.3 metric tonnes). The new MTOW will increase the maximum range by 450 nm to 3,400 nm for the A220-100 and to 3,350 nm for the A220-300.

The A220 had an order book of over 536 aircraft at the end of May.
