STMicro: next generation reader for digital car keys

(CercleFinance.com) - STMicroelectronics has announced a new addition to the successful digital car key line.


The group has presented a new reference to the series of digital car keys, the ST25R3920. "This new component introduces improved functionality for increased performance, including a quick response from the key and an extended range of action," the group said.

Digital keys allow drivers to lock and unlock their vehicles using a smartphone, benefiting from value-added functions, such as simplifying the management and sharing of access privileges with third parties (friends or valets).

They also enable new ownership models to be developed - for example, subscription-based car use services.
