Philips: to work on 'center for excellence' in Singapore

(CercleFinance.com) - Philips is working with the Singapore General Hospital to build a center of excellence aiming to use artificial intelligence to enhance patient care, the Dutch health technology company said on Friday.


Located within the hospital's pathology unit, the new laboratory will use Philips's diagnosis, training, and R&D equipment and services, allowing doctors to interpret digital images of surgical slides prepared from tissue samples.

The move comes as demand for cancer diagnosis is increasing in Singapore, while pathology capacities remain scarce.
