Degiro: posts record third-quarter numbers

(CercleFinance.com) - Degiro, the Dutch-based discount broker, posted its highest quarterly revenue on Wednesday as rising stockmarkets fueled increased trading by clients.


The online broker said it processed a record 4.9 million retail transactions over the third quarter, up 22% compared to the same period of 2018.

The Amsterdam-based firm said that 29,810 new accounts were opened in the past quarter, bringing its total number of accounts to 447,491.

As a result, third-quarter revenue jumped by 14.8% to 15.2 million euros. The company pointed out that it has ended the first nine months of 2019 with a net profit.

Degiro - which processes transactions that are worth over 50 billion euros in value in 18 countries - said that it plans to release a new version of its trading platform in the fourth quarter.
