Arcelormittal: partnership with Veolia for Fos-Sur-Mer

(CercleFinance.com) - ArcelorMittal and Veolia have announced the creation of a 50/50 joint venture to modernise the Fos-sur-Mer power generation plant, one of ArcelorMittal's largest sites in Europe with an annual capacity of 4.
6 million tonnes of steel.

This contract aims to optimise the operation of production assets, but also to increase the site's environmental performance by optimising recovery rate of steelmaking off-gases and reducing CO2 emissions.

The joint venture represents approximately 190 million euros over a period of three years. The operation and maintenance of the plant have been entrusted to Veolia Industries Global Solutions for 15 years, with turnover of around 450 million euros over the period.
