SES: signs contract with EMSA for Iceland

(CercleFinance.com) - SES announces that the Icelandic maritime authorities are using the European Maritime Safety Agency; the EMSA's range of remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS) using SES Networks' managed connectivity services.


The RPAS will perform maritime surveillance tasks of areas extending up to 200 nautical miles from the coast, covering large parts of the Icelandic exclusive economic zone, with missions lasting up to 12 hours.

The signed framework agreement says that SES Networks will provide satellite communications services for EMSA missions, including secure end-to-end satellite and terrestrial links, as well as the distribution of data from the RPAS.
