Toyota: deliveries up 21% over first 9 months
(CercleFinance.com) - Toyota Motor Europe (TME) has announced that it delivered 864,904 Toyota and Lexus vehicles in the first three quarters of 2021.
This represents an increase of 21% y-o-y and even a 3% increase compared to 2019.
Over this period, TME has a record market share of 6.7%, up 0.6 percentage points year-on-year.
Sales of the electrified range jumped by 36% and self-charging hybrids now represent 59% of sales. The Toyota brand maintains its second place in Europe in the passenger car channel with a market share of 6.4%, 0.7 point better than the same period last year.
The group said that while its order book remains at a record level, it is not immune to the supply problems currently affecting the global automotive industry.
