Atlantia: stock down 25% since Genoa disaster

(CercleFinance.com) - The Atlantia share is down 7% in Milan this Monday morning, having fallen sharply since the collapse of a viaduct in Genoa, Italy, on 14 August, a tragedy that has resulted in a total of 43 deaths.

The Atalantia share has lost over 25% of its value in the space of five days.

Atlantia is particularly under scrutiny by the Italian government, which announced that it intends to terminate all of its concessions with the company, accuses it for being responsible for the viaduct's collapse, due to failings in maintenance.

Atlantia, the parent company of Autostrade per l'Italia, warned in a statement released at the weekend that it would not accept such a decision without the granting compensation that is equivalent to the residual value of the concession.
