Eni: North Sea carbon storage project

(CercleFinance.com) - Eni UK has announced that it has applied to the North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA) for a license for a carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) project at the depleted Hewett gas field in the southern North Sea.


This aims to contribute to the decarbonisation of the Bacton and Thames Estuary region.

The Hewett depleted gas field is an ideal site for the permanent and secure storage of CO2 with a total capacity of around 330 million tonnes, the group said.
