Linde: agreement with OCI for plant in Texas

(CercleFinance.com) - Linde has announced that it has signed a long-term agreement to supply clean hydrogen and other industrial gases to OCI's new global blue ammonia plant in Beaumont, Texas, on the Gulf Coast.


OCI's 1.1 million tonne per year plant will be the first blue ammonia facility of its size to come online in the US. Linde will supply it by sequestering over 1.7 million tons of CO2 each year.

In addition to OCI, it will also use its pipeline network to supply clean hydrogen to existing and new customers on the US Gulf Coast, meeting the growing demand from businesses to decarbonise their operations.

The facility will also provide atmospheric and noble gases to existing and new customers. Linde's total investment will be approximately 1.8 billion dollars, with the project expected to start in 2025.
