Deliveroo: cuts losses in H1
(CercleFinance.com) - Deliveroo has reported a pre-tax loss of 104.
8 million pounds for H1 2021, compared to a loss of 128.4 million pounds in H1 2020, despite a gross margin that slipped one point to 7.8%.
Revenues rose by 82% to 922.5 million pounds, mainly as a result of a doubling in gross transaction value (+102%), thanks to an increase in the number of active consumers each month compared to H1 2020.
Deliveroo maintains its guidance, which it raised on 8 July, of annual gross transaction value (GTV) growth of between 50%-60% and an annual gross margin (% of GTV) at the lower end of 7.5%-8%.
The market doesn't seem to like losses, whatever their evolution, however: the share is currently down almost 3% at 352.5 pence in London.
