Vodafone: buys Italian 5G spectrum in 2.4 billion euro deal

(CercleFinance.com) - Vodafone said on Wednesday that it has acquired spectrum in Italy to enable the deployment of new 5G technology for a total price of 2.
4 billion euros.

The bunch of the spectrum acquired in the auction hosted by the Ministry of Economic Development includes the 3700 MHz band from 1 January 2019, with a licence duration of 19 years.

Vodafone said it expects to have already achieved coverage of 80% of Milan and its metropolitan area by December 2018, and that it aims to turn the city into the "5G capital of Europe."
