Vodafone: acquires Greek operator Cyta Hellas
(CercleFinance.com) - Vodafone, the British telecoms operator, this morning announced that its Greek subsidiary has completed the acquisition of CYTA Telecommunications Hellas for an enterprise value of 118 million euros.
CYTA Hellas is a fixed (around 300,000 customers, meaning a market share of around 8%) and mobile operator in Greece (around 40,000 customers). It owns a fiber optic network and operates in the mobile market as a virtual operator (MVNO) with backing from Vodafone.
