Rolls-Royce: mtu contracts

(CercleFinance.com) - Rolls-Royce has announced the successful commissioning of the first six Kinetic PowerPacks mtu's to secure one of the world's largest supercomputers located at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Saudi Arabia.


The fully customised turnkey secure power system is equipped with kinetic energy accumulators providing the data centre with uninterrupted power.

Rolls Royce has also been awarded the supply and turnkey installation of a large-scale mtu EnergyPack QG battery storage system for the Dutch energy company Semper Power in Vlissingen, the Netherlands.

When fully charged, the system has the capacity to supply 8,000 homes with electricity for a whole day, Rolls-Royce says.

When it goes into operation in spring 2023, it will be the largest energy storage system in the Netherlands and one of the largest in the EU.
