Rolls-Royce: Pearl 700 engine pushes boundaries

(CercleFinance.com) - Last night Rolls-Royce announced that its Pearl 700 engine program has achieved significant milestones on the road to certification and commissioning by 2022, with over 8,000 cycles and 3,000 hours of testing completed.


Rolls-Royce says the Pearl 700 has proven its reliability and performance in both cold and hot conditions. In addition, it can run on 100% sustainable aviation fuel.

Pearl 700 engines have propelled the Gulfstream G700 beyond its maximum operating speed (Mach 0.925) and cruising altitude (51,000 feet), reaching Mach 0.99 and an altitude of 54,000 feet.
