Reckitt Benckiser: hygiene and health products boost profit

(CercleFinance.com) - Reckitt Benckiser shares dipped on Tuesday as the British consumer-products company offered no guidance for 2020, after reporting better-than-expected first-half earnings.

Reckitt Benckiser said that surging demand for surface disinfectant brands, including Dettol, Lysol and Sagrotan boosted the sales of its hygiene and health products.

The UK-based company said first-half operating profit rose 13.4% to 1.6 million pounds. Meanwhile, its revenue increased by 10.8% to 6.9 million pounds, beating market expectations.

Looking ahead, RB said its full-year 2020 performance is now expected to be better than expectations provided in April, while pointing out that the outlook for the rest of 2020 remains "uncertain."

The shares were down almost 1% following this statement.
