Reckitt Benckiser: US grand jury indicts ex-pharma unit

(CercleFinance.com) - A federal grand jury has indicted Indivior, formerly known as Reckitt Benckiser Pharmaceuticals, for engaging in an "illicit nationwide scheme" to increase prescriptions of Suboxone Film, an opioid drug used in the treatment of opioid addiction, the US Department of Justice said on Tuesday.


In a statement on Wednesday, Reckitt Benckiser noted the indictment for its former business, which was demerged from the group at the end of 2014.

RB is referring investors to previous public statements, including its 2018 annual report, in which the company booked a provision of 400 million dollars.

However, some analysts warn investors against a threat that could be greater.

"DoJ indictment of Indivior might have more impact on RB than what the market prices in," UBS warned today in a note.

Reckitt Benckiser shares are currently down 6.3% in London.
