Centrica: customer base strengthened by acquisition

(CercleFinance.com) - The Centrica share is down slightly in London after lunch on Friday, with the energy group having announced that it has reached an agreement to acquire Robin Hood Energy's energy supply customer base through its gas business in the UK for an undisclosed sum.


Robin Hood Energy currently serves approximately 112,000 residential and 2,600 business customers through 10,000 sites. The transaction is expected to close on 16 September, with the transfer of customers expected to take place over the next few months.
