Marks & Spencer: to leave FTSE 100 index

(CercleFinance.com) - Marks & Spencer will leave the FTSE 100 index and enter the FTSE 250 index, the global index provider FTSE Russell said on Wednesday.


The British retailer will leave Britain's blue-chip index, along with insurer Direct Line and technology group Micro Focus from the start of trading on Monday 23 September, FTSE Russell said.

FTSE Russell said that generic drug company Hikma Pharmaceuticals, engineering group Meggitt and mining company Polymetal will be joining the FTSE 100 index as part of its quarterly review.
