GlaxoSmithKline: FDA approves arthritic pain relief gel

(CercleFinance.com) - GlaxoSmithKline said on Tuesday that the US Food and Drug Administration has approved its Voltaren gel as an over-the-counter product for the temporary relief of arthritic pain.


With the FDA's approval, Voltaren becomes the first nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) topical gel for arthritic pain available OTC in the US.

Voltaren has been approved for arthritis pain in the hand, wrist, elbow, foot, ankle or knee in adults aged 18 year and over.
