GSK: towards a departure of the chair

(CercleFinance.com) - GSK (GlaxoSmithKline) announces that Sir Philip Hampton has informed its Board of Directors of his intention to leave his post as non-executive chairman, which he has held since 7 May 2015.

The board has begun to look for his successor.

"Following the announcement of our deal with Pfizer and the intended separation of the new consumer business, I believe this is the right moment to step down and allow a new Chair to oversee this process through to its conclusion over the next few years," Philip Hampton said.
