Tesco: 500 stores now equipped with charging stations

(CercleFinance.com) - Tesco has announced that it has extended its free electric vehicle charging network in the UK to a total of 500 shops across the country.


Usage of the chargers has increased exponentially (+300%) over the past year, with customers reporting that having access to the charging points when shopping was a "bonus", Tesco says.

Since Tesco, Volkswagen and Pod Point launched the network in 2019, the charging points have provided over 41 million miles of free electric driving for motorists.

As the network uses only renewable energy, this has prevented 8,786 tonnes of CO2 from being emitted, the retailer estimates.
