bp: feasibility study of hydrogen hub in Germany
(CercleFinance.com) - bp announces that it intends to study the feasibility of building a new hydrogen hub in Germany.
The project, which would be located in Wilhelmshaven, would include an ammonia cracker that could supply up to 130,000 tonnes of low-carbon hydrogen from green ammonia p.a. from 2028.
Green ammonia - produced by combining nitrogen with hydrogen derived from the electrolysis of water using renewable energy sources - could be supplied to the Wilhelmshaven site from bp's green hydrogen projects around the world.
The share is up slightly on this news (+0.4%), although is doing better than a flat market in London.
