bp: carbon capture and storage project in Texas

(CercleFinance.com) - bp and Linde announce plans to develop a major carbon capture and storage (CCS) project in Texas that will enable the production of low-carbon hydrogen at existing Linde facilities.


The development will also support the storage of captured CO2 from other industrial facilities, paving the way for large-scale decarbonisation of the Texas Gulf Coast industrial corridor, the companies say.

As part of the project, bp will evaluate, develop and license geological storage sites for permanent CO2 sequestration. The low-carbon hydrogen will be sold to Linde's customers under long-term contracts.
