BP: to equalise stakes in solar firm Lightsource BP

(CercleFinance.com) - BP will purchase Lightsource BP's newly-issued shares to help accelerate the solar firm's growth, the British oil giant said on Thursday.


In December 2017, BP acquired 43% of Lightsource, which was subsequently rebranded as Lightsource BP.

The companies have now agreed to equalise their shareholdings in Lightsource BP to create a simplified 50:50 joint venture structure, BP said.

Also regarding clean energies, BP said on Wednesday that it will supply Amazon Web Services, the cloud unit of Amazon, with 170 MW of renewable energy - which represents the annual energy consumption of 125,000 homes.
