BP: starts up Shah Deniz 2 in Azerbaijan

(CercleFinance.com) - BP and its Shah Deniz consortium partners today announced the start-up of the Shah Deniz 2 gas development in Azerbaijan, with the first commercial delivery of gas to Turkey.


This 28 billion dollar BP project is the first underwater development in the Caspian Sea and the largest submarine infrastructure operated by the British group in the world.

"It is also the starting point for the Southern Gas Corridor series of pipelines that will for the first time deliver natural gas from the Caspian Sea direct to European markets," BP added.
