BAT: joins 'race to zero' climate initiative
(CercleFinance.com) - BAT says it has joined the UN-backed "Race to Zero" campaign to achieve "net zero emissions" by 2050.
As part of the campaign, BAT is announcing a realignment of its sustainability goals to a trajectory that will limit the average global temperature increase to 1.5°C.
The "Race to Zero" initiative, which brings together over 4,000 companies which represent 25% of global CO2 emissions and 50% of GDP, aims to halve CO2 emissions by 2030 before reaching net zero by 2050.
