Diageo: invests in Komasa Kanosuke distillery

(CercleFinance.com) - Diageo has announced that it has made a minority investment in Komasa Kanosuke - a producer of ultra-premium single malt whiskies that is based in Kagoshima, Japan - via Distill Ventures, a Diageo-backed structure.


The investment is expected to lead to increased whisky production, new product development and the expansion of Komasa Kanosuke's international sales and marketing teams, Diageo said.

Komasa Kanosuke has already won awards at the World Whisky Awards (Best New Japanese Brand in 2019 and 2020) and the Tokyo Whisky & Spirits Competition (2019 and 2021) and is planning several launches in the coming months.
