Diageo: invests 80 million dollars in 2 new production lines

(CercleFinance.com) - To support Diageo North America's growth strategy in the ready-to-drink (RTD) category, the company has announced the installation of two new drinks can lines at a new plant in Plainfield, Illinois, in the US.


With an investment of approximately 80 million dollars, the facility will have a production capacity of over 25 million cases of RTD per year, including Smirnoff Seltzers and the newly launched RTD spirit cocktails, Crown Royal and Ketel One Botanicals.

The first line will be capable of producing up to 500 cans per minute (CPM), while the second will reach 1,200 CPM. Both facilities are expected to be up and running by the summer of 2021, Diageo says.
