Aviva: in demand due to shareholder payouts

(CercleFinance.com) - Aviva shares are up over 4% in London today, after the UK insurer announced plans to distribute at least four billion pounds to investors by the end of H1 2022, starting with 750 million pounds in share buybacks.


Given the group's confidence in the strength of its business and underlying cash flows, its board has also decided on a 5% increase in its H1 dividend to 7.35p per share.

Aviva reported an IFRS loss of 198 million pounds for H1 2021, against a profit of 874 million pounds a year earlier, with adjusted operating profit of 1.13 billion pounds, down 8% y-o-y.
