FDJ: Brussels investigates privatisation

(CercleFinance.com) - FDJ has announced that Brussels has opened an in-depth investigation against France on the appropriateness of the 380 million paid as remuneration for the exclusive rights granted on the lottery and sporting bets at sales outlets.


As part of its privatisation and the Pacte law, for a period of 25 years the State secured the exclusive rights that the group previously held for an unlimited period, in return for FDJ paying the State 380 million euros.

FDJ adds that it will remain at the disposal of the authorities, alongside the State, during the course of the proceedings in order to provide all the necessary elements demonstrating the compliance of this legal framework with French and European law.
