bioMérieux: CE marking for tuberculosis test

(CercleFinance.com) - On the World tuberculosis day, bioMérieux announces the CE marking of VIDAS TB IGRA, its "Fully-automated test VIDAS® TB IGRA (Interferon-Gamma Release Assay) to diagnose latent TB infection".


"With 10 million new active cases and 1.4 million related deaths worldwide in 20191, TB remains an important cause of mortality from a single infectious disease", the in-vitro diagnostics specialist said.

VIDAS TB-IGRA will be gradually rolled out in countries that recognise the CE mark. Laboratories will be able to perform these tests on the VIDAS 3 system. bioMérieux plans to submit an application for approval to the FDA in the near future.
