bioMérieux: RP Biofire 2.1 Plus obtains CE marking

(CercleFinance.com) - bioMérieux has announced that its Respiratory Panel (RP) Biofire 2.
1 Plus has obtained CE marking.

It simultaneously tests 23 pathogens (19 viruses including SARS-CoV-2 and four bacteria) responsible for the most common respiratory infections.

This advances the existing BIOFIRE Respiratory Panel 2 plus, adding SARS-CoV-2 to the panel menu. It enables health professionals to rapidly identify - and in one test - patients with common respiratory pathogens and Covid-19 patients.

This test, which is very simple to use, works with completely automated Filmarray 2.0 or Filmarray Torch systems. It will be marketed gradually in all countries that recognise CE marking.
