Europcar: buys out two franchises in Northern Europe

(CercleFinance.com) - Europcar Mobility Group announces the acquisition of Europcar Finland and Europcar Norway, its fourth and fifth acquisitions of franchises, which will enable it to expand its own network of wholly-owned subsidiaries from 18 to 20 countries.


Both companies, respectively No. 1 in Finland and No. 3 in Norway, cover both leisure travelers and the business market. The combined turnover of the two activities was approximately 56 million euros in 2018.

Significant synergies could potentially be realized, particularly in the areas of fleet purchase and financing, and medium-term savings opportunities exist for back office functions in the Nordic area.
