Elis: Q1 2020 sales down 1.8%

(CercleFinance.com) - Industrial cleaner Elis' Q1 2020 sales fell by 1.
8% in organic terms to 759.2 million euros (-2.3% as reported).
Sales were hit by the different lockdown measures in March (-12.4% in organic terms), after a good start to the year (respectively +4.6% and +3.0% in organic terms in January and February).

The group's Hotels division has been hit the worst, with a significant impact in France (-4.1%), Southern Europe (-5.8%) and the UK & Ireland (-6.7%) in organic terms over the quarter.

"Industry, Trade & Services and Healthcare show more resilience and the regions mostly serving these clients are stable or up in the quarter (+0.6% in Central Europe, -0.3% in Scandinavia & Eastern Europe and +6.4% in Latin America on an organic basis)," Elis said.
