Worldline: share tumbles after Atos' placement

(CercleFinance.com) - Worldline shares are down over 7% on Tuesday following the placement - by its historical shareholder Atos - of around seven million shares, representing 2.
5% of its capital.

According to analysts, the deal was made at a unit price of 33.4 euros, i.e. at a 5% discount to yesterday's closing price.

At these levels, the proceeds of the transaction therefore represent around 234 million euros.

As such the groups are unwinding the last links between them, Invest Securities notes this morning.

This is good news for Worldline given the current difficulties of its former parent company, even if the timing and price of the exit appear to be far from optimal, the broker added.

In its reaction note, Invest points out that the transaction has taken place at a time when Worldline's share price is at its recent lows.

For the record, Atos combined all of its payment and transaction services activities into a single entity in 2013, called Worldline, which it floated in June 2014.

Since its IPO, Worldline's value has more than doubled.
