Elior: at least 3 candidates interested in Areas

(CercleFinance.com) - According to Les Echos today, it is now increasingly likely that Areas (concessions catering) will be sold by its parent company, Elior.


The French economic paper understands that at least three investment funds - the US fundsCarlyle and Lonestar - and the French fund PAI, have been retained (by the board of directors, ed.) to submit final offers in the coming weeks.

Les Echos added that Italian sector player Autogrill, no longer appears to be in the running.

Elior appears to want about 1.6 billion euros for Areas.
However, note that the deal is not yet certain to go ahead, the newspaper adds, reporting that an industrial player could ultimately come out of the woodwork: "the name of the British competitor SSP has been mentioned, as has that of the Swiss Gategroup, we read. To be continued...
