Neoen: work starts on Kaban wind farm

(CercleFinance.com) - Neoen has announced that it has instructed Vestas to start work on the Kaban Green Power Hub in Far North Queensland, Australia.

The project is expected to be operational in 2023 and represents an investment of 373 million Australian dollars (about 305 million euros).

The project includes the construction of a 157 MW wind farm near the town of Ravenshoe on the Atherton Plateau, as well as the upgrade of a 320 km transmission line on Powerlink's network along the North Queensland coast.

Thanks to the Kaban wind farm, Neoen's portfolio now exceeds the 2 GW threshold of capacity in operation or under construction in Australia. The renewable energy group, which is present in fifteen countries, is aiming for a global capacity of 10 GW by the end of 2025.

With all this activity down under, the stock has the wind in its sails this morning - up 3% in early trading on Friday.
