Suez: wins waste treatment contract in Oman

(CercleFinance.com) - Today, the Suez Group announced that the public authority in charge of waste treatment in the Sultanate of Oman has granted it the contract for the operation and maintenance of the hazardous waste treatment facility in Sohar, located 230km north-west of Muscat, the capital of the Sultanate.

This contract, lasting for three-and-a-half years, includes reception, storage, and landfilling of 42,000 tons of hazardous industrial waste per year.

“Sohar, located 230km North West of Muscat, Oman's capital, accounts for almost 90% of the country's current production of hazardous industrial waste. Most is generated by industries operating within the industrial port, Oman's largest heavy industrial hub, and the surrounding industrial area”, says Suez.
