Suez: wins five contracts in South America

(CercleFinance.com) - Suez today announces that it has signed a total of five contracts in Chile, Mexico and Brazil.


In Sao Paulo, for example, SABESP, a public body in charge of water management, awarded Suez a contract to reduce leaks in water networks, for 1.2 million euros.

In Mexico, the group signed a contract with the city of Querétaro, worth 2.3 million euros. This concerns the installation of the Aquacis system, offering better technical and commercial management of water management services.

Santiago, Chile, awarded Suez the infrastructure upgrades for the Mapocho-Trebal and Farfana wastewater treatment plants. Through its participation in Aguas Andinas, Suez will implement the Biofactorias program. Both these stations will become fully self-sufficient in terms of energy, producing reinjectable gas in the urban gas network, compost products for farmers and will develop a social entrepreneurship program.

Suez also says that it has signed a hydrology service contract for an agricultural business in Chile. The group has also renewed a contract for the operation and maintenance of the water system facilities for a stakeholder in the mining industry in El Teniente. This contract is worth 13 million euros.
