Getlink: passenger cars boost traffic in April

(CercleFinance.com) - On Tuesday Getlink reported an "excellent" level of traffic for April, in particular driven by passenger cars, which recorded their best month since the summer of 2020.


The Channel Tunnel operator said it carried 204,069 passenger cars last month, a leap of about 450% y-o-y.

The group says it recorded over 131,000 crossings over the Easter holidays (8-24 April), including 36,592 crossings over the Easter weekend alone (15-18 April).

These good figures confirm the upward trend observed in Q1, it said.

Regarding truck shuttles, traffic increased 14% to 128,980 vehicles in April, boosted by the British P&O ferries being left back in the harbour for over a month.
